My fellow brethren in Christ Jesus, a blessed day to you all. Now if you look closely at how we do our things you will discover that often at times we just make our own decisions based on what we think is best for us, yet we are supposed to inquire of the Lord firstly and foremost. There is a mental deception that we presume we have got it all figured out and sadly after several years or instantly we begin to cry fowl when we seemingly have hit rock bottom or are in loophole of stagnation. Listen decision making is a big deal as someone once said, ‘big decisions shouldn’t be made out of an empty stomach…’, this they said so as to show the importance of any choice we make, therefore you and I need to take into serious consideration our thoughts, plans and purposes and really evaluate them to see if they align with the plan that God for us.
Proverbs 14:12 says,
[12]There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.
By this verse, I want you to sit down and think deeply about your decisions over your life and see if the outcome of your trajectory or thought pattern leads to fruitfulness and life which is found in the Will and plan of God our Father or it leads to death through our own assumptions or pointless of views!
Don’t fool yourself by thinking you’ve got it all figured out cos none of us have a clue of what the next hour brings. Yes we make plans but you need to realize that it is the will of the Father that prevails. Absolutely none of us are promised tomorrow, and it takes the grace of God in order to see the next minute!
The greatest sin we commit is to think we are in control of our lives and that things will work out the way we’ve anticipated, which is not true!
James 4:13-17
[13]Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a city and spend a year there and carry on our business and make money.
[14]Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow. What is the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air].
[15]You ought instead to say, If the Lord is willing, we shall live and we shall do this or that [thing].
[16]But as it is, you boast [falsely] in your presumption and your self-conceit. All such boasting is wrong.
[17]So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.
Today I need to teach you to be humble enough to realize that it is by the grace of God you are able to wake up and spend the day alive and not by your intelligence or cleverness. Reverencing the Father means we ought to acknowledge that to breathe and live is by His grace which is found in Christ Jesus. So whether you are a Christian or not, God is long-suffering and waits for you to start to think right and behave accordingly to His Will and plan, because He is a just and loving God. Understand that it’s either you do things God’s way or your way, of which either way it is the will of God that prevails- with or without you. If there’s a way that seems right it is also true to believe that there is the Way which is right and it is found in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.(John 14:6).
