My fellow brethren in Christ Jesus shalom to you. I have some questions for you:
What is of value to you?
What is is that you are seeking after?
What is it that you can say is worth dying for?
What do you think is the value of life?
Earlier today, I was disturbed by these thoughts as I see how many of us are living as enemies of the cross because we just want it fine and dine.
Brothers and sisters there is a degree of hate of the things of this world that qualifies you for Heaven, yet most of us hey, we love this world too much!
Don’t get me wrong this world is beautiful but many fall because of the love of things all this glitters and glamour. Watch this, 1 John 2
- Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.
- For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
- And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.
Sad reality is that many of us are so earthly-focused that we are heavenly-ignorant and blind!
You cannot call yourself a Christian if you do not know anything about heaven or even invest into the Kingdom of God- you don’t even have time to think of God or imagine how your place or house in heaven will be like; yet back here you see yourself driving the G-wagon Brabus and staying in a mansion, my friend you are joking!
We are called to a higher calling; there is nothing wrong dreaming/wishing to be wealthy in this life but stretch your imagination and dream bigger than you ever did before because there is a surpassing worth, and see yourself walking in the streets of pure gold in Heaven!
Paul said, Philippians 3
- Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss/dung compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),
Watch this in the KJV he uses the word dung meaning the excrement of animals-rendering everything to be worthless/useless. Mind you Paul was very educated and of royalty- he was very rich but for the sake of knowing Christ he shifted his focus foe the ultimate prize of knowing Christ.
Sons of God do not invest so much of your time and strength in the things of this life and forsake or ignore to invest in the things of Gid where there is great value.
Are you prepared to lose it all/everything you have sweat and worked for so that you can gain Christ?!
I end by these word; invest wisely in whatever you do!
