The birth of a child shows us how precious and long life is yet the death of a person shows us how precious and short life is. Two outcomes with a powerful impact upon our lives, each serving as a reminder of that we are merely passing through on this earth, therefore something has to give, something has to break and someone has to change. When and if we understand that we are sojourners or pilgrims in this life we will then have attained wisdom and begin to live. 1 Chronicles 29: says,
[15]For we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope or expectation of remaining.
Now taking this into consideration we ought to then give ourselves to God – James 4: says,
[7]So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
[8]Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery].
My friend if we qualify in doing this we qualify in being pleasing children of God.
We can never avoid these two outcomes in life of – celebrating the birth of a new born baby or mourning the loss of a loved one, so also we must not be ignorant of and/or cannot avoid making things right with God our Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour!
