My beloved friend so many of us don’t seem to get it, as a matter of fact we do not realize our mistake and dangerously blame it on God.
Yes Christ said ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find and if you knock the door will be opened, but hear this it’s not just about asking, seeking or knocking but its all about two major things we overlook:
- His will.
- Our motives.
Now these two factors are very crucial if you seeking to receive anything from the Father.
I have heard many saying I have been praying for this and even fasted and did everything right but may I question did you evaluate with these two major factor?
Watch this; 1 John 5: clearly says, [13]I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life.
[14]And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.
[15]And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.
We jump to the asking and receiving mostly overlooking if it’s in accordance to His plan or our own plan!
Then again we make this mistake;
James 4:
[2]You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask. [I John 3:15.]
[3][Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.
Many will argue we have right motives but if that is the case how come even after asking for years not months you still don’t have?
Is it that God is a liar and thus lied or it is because He that searches the heart and knows the deepest secrets of a man’s heart sees through the deception and in the end says, NO!
We might argue, try to debate it but hear me if you ask for anything outside the will of God it’s a NO!
If you ask anything and your desire is to spend it in sensual pleasures that will take you away from God, then my friend the answer is, NO!
The bottom line is God loves you too much to let you loose your faith over a moment He sees coming that will land you in darkness- so when you ask for certain things it’s a NO!
There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.
