My friend as I took a bath this morning I then began to see visions of a rich man who lived his life on earth fully satisfied in everything that he wanted and needed and lacked nothing good. I then saw many many chances that passed him by without him even taking note of it and somehow being ignorant of the moments of a repenteth righteous heart. It then dawned on me that in the so many chances that we get we all will reach a stage of expired chance: each chance we miss is a chance expired and we can never win it back because another chance has to presented to counter the lost one. Now God is calling us to righteousness not partly-righteousness but total and absolute righteous defined in holiness.
Luke 16: Talks of a rich man never named except that he was rich and he missed his chances until it was too late for him:
[19]There was a certain rich man who [habitually] clothed himself in purple and fine linen and reveled and feasted and made merry in splendor every day.
[22]And it occurred that the man [reduced to] begging died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
[23]And in Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom.
[24]And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have pity and mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.
[27]And [the man] said, Then, father, I beseech you to send him to my father’s house–
[28]For I have five brothers–so that he may give [solemn] testimony and warn them, lest they too come into this place of torment.
[29]But Abraham said, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear and listen to them.
This rich man reached a stage of expired chances. Sadly he went to the place of Hades and there was tormented. Imagine after having lived such a lavish lifestyle to be reduced and placed in a place of eternal poverty, endless suffering whilst beholding those you despise today living a lavish life in heaven because they obey the gospel. Friends God our Father is calling us to righteousness without excuses or compromise. Undefiled holiness that will qualify you for Abraham’s bossom. So ask yourself today where are you headed, where are you going?
Without Holiness no one will see God and enjoy heaven this is an irrevocable truth!
