My friend one thing any believer doesn’t want to hear is that they have to suffer. Many of us love to hear how God is going to bless you and how he is going to change your situation but never do we want to hear the truth that the very process and transition from darkness to light is birthed through some suffering because of the devil and sin. When Christ Jesus called us to salvation He said in Luke 9:23 And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].
For a mango seed to be a mango tree it has to go through several processes: being buried to the ground it dies and grows into a tree enduring the heat, the wind, the rain, the fire, the storm, the axe but guess what in it’s due season it bears mangoes. A mother has to go through the process of labour pains for the beauty of giving birth to a beautiful adorable soul. An athlete goes through years of training just to run a course and win a medal. Likewise us too we need to endure whatsoever we will face during suffering and never faint because of what we will produce on the later stage.
Paul explains it this way, Romans 8:16-18 The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.
[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!
Nothing in this life comes cheap or easy because of the sin that entered the world and because of our adversary the devil who doesn’t want to see any good, yet prepare yourself through prayer, fasting and the study of God’s word and know, in fact be rest-assured that God our Father wants to give you hope and an expected good future, so everything will work-out together for your own good. Fasting is never easy but it is very rewarding. Praying is not cheap but very fruitful. Studying God’s word might seem boring or time consuming but it is very much uplifting and equips the saint with adequate tools to use in this life.
