My friend there is a blindness that is brought forth by looking backwards. Many of us fail to progress in life because we are holding on to something in the past. There is blindness that stops us from seeing an open door because we are looking backwards considering things that have long passed. Your past holds your history but your future holds your destiny. The past has no voice in your present nor your future unless you allow it to. Hear me good who you were yesterday is not who you are today because there is a transformation that takes place, with each passing day you learn something new thus is transformed.
We have to learn to let go of our yesterday and be visionaries focusing on tomorrow. Yesterday is gone today is passing and tomorrow is yet to come, so choose wisely where your focus and heart will be. The choice is yours to whether you’re going to progress forward or you gonna look backward where there’s nothing but death.
A divine destiny is set for those who choose not to look behind.
In Genesis 19:17 the angels of the lord gave a divine instruction which most of us fail to follow:
And when they had brought them forth, they said, Escape for your life! Do not look behind you or stop anywhere in the whole valley; escape to the mountains [of Moab], lest you be consumed.
Yet some of us like Lot’s wife are disobedient.
Genesis 19:26But [Lot’s] wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Lot himself nor his children never looked back even though his wife and mother to his children did because they were chasing after their destinies which was not found where they had left where there was death.
Hebrews says focusing on Christ Jesus, looking up to Him the author and finisher of our faith not where we coming from. So today look ahead, look forward and never look behind. Paul says press on toward the goal. No one presses on backwards but forward.
