It was in my time of distress that I sought the Lord most. Having insomnia all I could do is call upon the Lord and he whispered to me, “stay on the course for the marathon of you life does have hills, valleys and bends”. I felt encouraged to be like Paul and fight the good fight of faith. Hebrews 12:1 then says, THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us.
I encouraged myself in the Lord and said no matter what I face Father keep me true to the course so that I run the race with patient endurance and steady and active persistence and reach the finish line so as to attain a crown. My sole purpose is to run the race set before. I know it won’t be easy but it will be worth it. Yes it might have thorns and rocks along the way but I’ll press on toward the mark to reach at the end of the finish line, and that’s what counts.
So I run my race and stay focused on the ultimate goal, cos others before me ran their races and conquered so will I; they never gave up so will I.
