My fellow brethren in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour peace unto you all. Today I want us to talk about responsibility and accountability.
As people we are complacent and/or comfortable talking about the past or present, but when it comes to the future and the fate of mankind, we consider it as conspiracy theories.
In Bible school, we learn of Eschatology which is a part of theology concerned with death, judgement, and the final destiny of the soul and humankind.
In other words eschatology is the science of last things.
Now you and I were created to be born of the wombs we came out of for a designated purpose.
The Apostle Paul explained the very reason for our creation when he said in Acts 17:26-27
[26]And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes),
[27]So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us.

So it is our Responsibility to seek after God and to find Him, therefore any excuse whatsoever is not tolerated!
It is sad that some of us we are just like Adam to whom God gave responsibility and he failed to be accountable for his actions.
We are so full of excuses and reasons why this didn’t work out and/or why we failed to attain what God assigned for us, because we tend to think God is unknowledgeable of our dealings, weakness and lifestyle. Our lives are full of compromise and we don’t seem to realise that it is His plan, His Will that prevails.
Accountability does not shift blame, it assumes responsibility.
Proverbs 10:5
[5]He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

Hear me well, this proverb is saying make hay whilst the sun still shines, even as our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ said one must work whilst it is still day. This speaks of taking the initiative to be responsible and accountable, because we all have time allocated to us.
Responsibility is to control yourself and being accountable.
Accountability is willingness to accept responsibility of your actions and/or work.
So are you accountable for the lifestyle that you have and are you accountable for the way you are living your life?!
Sons of God the Father gave us these two attributes and it is in the best of our capacities that we fulfill each mandate assigned to us without failure or any excuses.
