My fellow brethren in Christ Jesus’ blessings to you. I heard the Lord saying to me today, ‘ do you know that Jesus was unique no wonder why He has an unmatched name!’
As listened attentively I began to see how many of us make effort to impress others and get approval, yet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ sort after no man’s approval and praise but God’s. He was questioned several times why He healed on the sabbath, He was doubted, mocked and yet everything He did was so to please God. Christ Jesus never had posters or social media nor adverts of His coming, yet He was a crowd puller. His heart was set-out on doing that which the Lord God our Heavenly Father had instructed and mandated for Him. He once quoted scripture from Isaiah and mentioned that which was written of Him and even at one time said, “my food is to do the will of Him who sent me!”
Now you are there my brother and sister, you know no scripture, may I ask you whom is it that you are out to please?
Whose will are you doing?
What is your heart’s desire?
What are you earnestly seeking after?
I was deeply touched by the words that God spoke about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, after Christ Jesus did an exceptional thing of showing such a magnitude of humility and obedience:
Matthew 3
- Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John to be baptized by him.
- But John protested strenuously, having in mind to prevent Him, saying, It is I who have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?
- But Jesus replied to him, Permit it just now; for this is the fitting way for [both of] us to fulfill all righteousness [that is, to perform completely whatever is right]. Then he permitted Him.
- And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him.
- And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! [Ps. 2:7; Isa. 42:1.]
Look at this, because of what Christ Jesus did in righteousness, God was pleased and spoke audibly for everyone hear of His joy in His Son!
If God was delighted with the acts of Christ Jesus,is He pleased with yours?
One of my own prayers, I pray asking the Lord to help me be pleasing to Him in everything I do, before His eyes. Sons of God may this desire and/or attitude be also in you that you please God in everythinh, cos with men surely you will be disappointed!
When Paul mentioned that let this mindest be in you which was in Christ, it also speaks of a David-like characteristic, where your heart goes after seeking and pleasing God. If you do things to please men they will clap for you for a season and after the season is over you will not be remembered, but if you please God then you have eternal glory and a crownof righteousness which opens doors for you and that is of everlasting value. So I urge you today; choose wisely!
