My fellow brethren in Christ I hope I find you all well. Often at times we fail because we belittle ourselves and fail to weather the storm. Understand that no storm that you face is meant to kill you but test you!
Do not fail the test by magnifying the problem more than what it already is.
We read in Mark 4 verses 35 to 40 how Christ Jesus’ weathered the storm, watch this:
- On that same day [when] evening had come, He said to them, Let us go over to the other side [of the lake].
- And leaving the throng, they took Him with them, [just] as He was, in the boat [in which He was sitting]. And other boats were with Him.
- And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat, so that it was already becoming filled.
- But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing?
- And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness).
- He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)?
They are a few things I want us to learn from this passage of scripture:
- We will all face nightfall/darkness/weeping at some/several points in our lives, yet joy comes in the morning!
- We must always pay attention to what the Lord has said at first in spite the storms of life that the devil brings.
- We must learn to always weather the storm- survive through hard times/stay calm in the face of adversity, knowing that God is with and is for us!
- The Lord already told us that in this world we will face hard times, so we ought to be strong. (John 16:33).
- That which the Lord has spoken over your life, no other voice can silence nor cancel, so keep the faith!
You will find that Christ rebuked/reprimanded the disciples to say, “my presence is here with you and I have spoken that we are going to the other side, therefore where is your faith in me and my WORD pertaining you?”
I do not know who I am speaking to right there, but do not doubt God against what you are seeing/facing right now, because often times things are not as they appear. God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent, that which He has spoken will surely come to pass. Surely the storms will come and like in this scripture it was a violent storm yet know that Jesus Christ is always with you and for you and is maping a way out for you, so hold on and believe in Christ Jesus because he can’t and will never fail you!
Let the testing of your faith produce endurance/fortitude – which is courage in pain or adversity and the ability and capacity to continue without giving up no matter what in Christ Jesus’ Mighty name!
