For you to make it through everything you are facing. They are two key things you need to always master and practice – Patience and Persistence.
Patience is the capacity to accept delay without being anxious.
Persistence is the fact of continuing in action in spite of the difficulty or delay.
Now many of us fail in the things of God because we think being patient is foregoing what you had started and doing something else. Let me give you an illustration of a garden. When you plant seed you must water and tend the garden until you see the seed sprout out from the ground and this takes Patience and Persistence. You must learn and train yourself to be disciplined in these practices if whatever you have been believing God for is to come to pass. Giving up or throwing in the towel along the way due to the vicissitudes of life is just evidence that you were not serious about it in the first place.
Clearly decide what you want from God, these are the petitions with thanksgiving that the Bible talks about and as you pray about it be patient in waiting and persitant in your asking until you receive them.
The New living Translation version of the Bible says in Matthew 7:7 Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.

What Christ Jesus is teaching us here is two key principles that you must apply during prayer: Patience & Persistence.
I want you to ask yourself these two questions.

1. Have you been patient in your asking during your prayers to the Father?
2. If you have been patient, have you been persistent in your asking within your prayers?
   Once you notice that you haven’t received it yet be patient and persist in prayer, don’t stop until you get it.
   Begin now, go back to your prayer points and start practicing Patience and Persistence and see if God will not answer you.
