My friend giving thanks is not meant for that holiday of Thanksgiving in December alone. Thanksgiving is supposed to be an everyday thing.
Now Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude to God; and gratitude is the quality and readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
This might sound strange but if you are in a sickbed fighting for your life and happen to see the light of the next day be thankful despite the fact that you are in constant pain, cos thanksgiving or that act of appreciation will speed up your recovery process. Hear me, Thanksgiving is never conditional according to God, in fact what most of us don’t realize is that when things are bad I mean really bad and we find ourselves with an attitude of gratitude this becomes a prophetic seed for the desired result. David at one time said, ‘I am poor and needy, yet the Lord is thinking of me right now.’ (Psalm 40:17). Such an attitude of gratitude brought provision into his life.
I want to encourage you to always have faith and an attitude of gratitude foremost importanly for the gift of life.
The WORD of God says in
1 Thessalonians 5:18 Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
I know its a hard pill to swallow but this is what the Father commands.
Job having lost everything and his flesh eating away he said in chapter 19 ‘Yet I know my redeemer and vindicator lives, even if my flesh dies yet I shall see God!’
Such an attitude of gratitude and look in the end how God blessed him.
So my friend give thanks in all occasions!
