Let Christ be your Shepherd!

My beloved friend has goodness and mercy been following you all the days of your life?
Or it has been badness, pain and struggle?
I pondered over these words from yesterday morning as I heard a still voice saying, ‘surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life!’. I looked back and retraced my steps and found out this was not true in my life and then I asked myself, ‘Did God then lie or what am I missing here?’
I then revisited the first verse of Psalm 23 and that’s when it dawned on me that God had not been my Shepherd all the days of my life because I didn’t let/allow Him to be, and that is why I’m in want!
a.A Shepherd means One who guides.
~I didn’t let Him guide me in fact I wanted to guide/bend Him to my desires because once I saw the valley of the shadow of death I panicked.
b. A Shepherd is one who directs in a particular direction.
~ I was the one in the driver seat maping the road and didn’t allow him to lead me besides the still/reassuring/comforting waters.
c. A Shepherd is the Keeper.
~ I trusted in my own ability and education, and I didn’t trust God to lead me to a place of rest and keep me amongst the tender fresh green pastures.
d. A Shepherd gives courage.
I dared not to be near my enemies and hid myself from them, but to show His glory through me He longs to prepare a table in their midst and bless me before their very eyes.
e. A Shepherd cares.
~ I went through the worst and felt all alone, almost gave up on God, yet He has awaits for me to realize that He Has given His rod to protect me and His stuff to guide me just to prove that He cares and love me.
So as I ponder over this word I realize where I need to adjust and what I need to do in order to benefit fully from this blessed assurance through Christ Jesus my Saviour!
