My friend the very disheartening thing I have ever discovered in my years of ministry is our failure to follow instructions.
God says study His word – we browse through it!
God says pray – we complain that we have no time!
The man of God gives us an instruction we give excuses and futile reasonings.
We asked to fast 10days – we don’t even fast or we fast only 2.
2 Kings 5: [10]Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored and you shall be clean.
[11]But Naaman was angry and went away and said, Behold, I thought he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and heal the leper.
[12]Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
[13]And his servants came near and said to him, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean?
[14]Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a little child, and he was clean.
As we read above Namaan almost lost his deliverance and breakthrough by his anger and trying to argue himself out of an instruction. The river Jordan was a dirty river and he said are they not are other better places to go to wash and further more he was inquisitive to why the man of God didn’t come himself to either pray for him or speak a WORD. This is some of us we are so arrogantly puffed-up when given simple instructions because we think things should be done our way of thinking. Namaan had good servants that were able to guide him for his deliverance; you and I may not have even friends to encourage us to obey instruction that will release your breakthrough.
Following instructions is prerequisite for blessings/deliverance/healing/promotion to occur.
Today pray that you be a doer of instruction to the dot not a debater because it is in following instruction that yield results.
