My friend one of the most destructive force is the spirit of lust. Lust causes spiritual adultery which is great sin because our Father is a jealous GOD. Now lust is a sensuous appetite. A vigorously deep and intimate desire for a thing, man or woman within one’s mind. 1 John 2:16 says, For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. Lust can be for clothing, food, money, sex, wealth and pleasures of life, niw this causes spiritual adultery.
Spiritual adultery is unfaithfulness to God. It is having an undue fondness for the things of the world.
We belong to God and are His and not of this world.
So let us pray that God delivers us from spiritual adultery which is birthed by lust.
