My friend we need to cultivate the ground so that we remove the pride of life from us.
This dependency on our own resources and strength or abilities and not having us rely on God is a great sin.
1 John 2:16 says, For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
We need to totally depend and count on God for our daily supply and help and direction in life, because our help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth. Pride is a serious sin which makes us think or feel we better off without Christ. So let us plough-out the pride of life from our very lives in Christ Jesus’s name!
