My friend you must strive/aim to have a habit of cultivating the right thoughts. Our minds a programmable based on the information we acquire, so there has to be a renewing of the mind by the Word of God. You need to understand and note that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Each day we are exposed to alot of bad/wrong things that are in this world and there is a standard of this world that we need to break-off from; the only tool with enough tenacity to break the strongholds of the mind is the WORD of God!
Before one is defeated physically they are defeated mentally, hence it said knowledge is power because it empowers the mind and the will to act.
Paul speaks of transformation that come by the renewal of mind through the word of GOD in Romans 12:2 which says, Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
The victory is in the mind my brothers and sisters, what you think plays a huge role. If you loose your battle emotionally it’s a sure sign that you have been defeated mentally.
Proverbs 23:7 says, For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].
So make sure you guard carefully what enters your mind through the eye-gate and ear-gate because if you don’t this can mean your downfall.
