My friend when you fail to pray or fast or not find time to study God’s word, you are seemingly taking away the glory meant for God and offering it to something or someone else. Today some if not many of us say, prayer can wait but not my favorite soapie; prayer can wait but not my football match, Bible study can wait but not my time with my partner, church can wait but not my outing or trip with my friends. You find we opt to do other things instead of making God and things of God our primary priority! Now GOD our Father is saying , Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord; that is My name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.
Our God is a jealous GOD! If you are not given attention or heard when you speak by the one that you love and who loves you that infuriates (angers) you, you start to feel unloved and unappreciated as if that person no longer cares about you or your feelings. God in His Sovereignty says in Exodus 20:2-5 I am the Lord your God, Who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.
You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, [Isa. 42:8; 48:11.]
If you feel unvalued by the one you love and betrayed this surely will affect or even mess up to the point of destroying your relationship. How do you think God takes it when we have no time, are too tired to pray or preoccupied to study His word?!
My friend, make God your and the only number 1 priority before anything/anyone else!
