My friend one thing I’ve grown to know and understand is that our enemy the devil doesn’t take unnecessary coffee breaks. Our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ was very clear on the 3 works of the devil in John 10 and that is killing, stealing, and destroying. He has no other agenda except this, yet one needs to understand that God our Father has a plan and purpose of all blessing and favour lined-up for each and everyone of us.
1 Peter 5:8-10 says, Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset–rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
Beloved we must train and prepare ourselves to be always keeping a careful watch of danger and to be serious and sensible when it comes to our walk of faith.
Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us a stern warning about the devil and said in Matthew 26:41 All of you must keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Hear me good, the devil has no mercy and when he strikes surely expect the 3 agendas mentioned in John chapter 10 to come to play. So from today be sober and vigilant!
